Questions will be drawn from class textbooks of standard 7 to 9 (Category 1) and standard 10 to 12 (Category 2), Success Preamble study material and from current events in India and around the world (newspaper).
A descriptive type talent based examination under Category 1 & 2 will be conducted for the selected students who qualify the prelims examinations. The exam will consist of 2 papers which will be conducted in a single day. Questions will be of thought-provoking nature based on textbooks.
The mains Examination is intended to assess the overall intellectual traits and depth of understanding of candidates rather than merely the range of their information and memory. The nature and standard of questions in the General Studies papers will be such that a well-educated person will be able to answer them without any specialized study.
Students who are shortlisted from the rank list of the main exam will be invited for an interview. They will thus get a great experience of the real spirit of a UPSC interview. They will also have an opportunity to interact with the reputed persons in the civil service. Thier right direction and guidance will boost the confidence of children.
The final result will be based on the aggregate marks obtained by the candidate in mains and interview added together.The interview will analyze the capability of a candidate to hold a responsible post in civil services.This includes an officer-like quality such as self-confidence, clarity and brevity of speech, analytical ability, quick response, innovative ideas, leadership skills, ability to visualize different dimensions of the problem, and body language.
